DOWNLOADING PEGANET WINDOWS 95 SOFTWARE PACKAGE

1. Click here to download the PEGANET WINDOWS 95 PACKAGE. (A copy of PegaNet Windows 95 Package is also available from our ftp site: ftp.peganet.net/peg95.exe)

2. After you have recieved the file, click on START then RUN then BROWSE to directory containing the file PEG95.EXE, and run it. The installation is completely automatic! Once complete you will be prompted to restart your computer. You MUST restart at this time!

IMPORTANT: IF YOU RECEIVE A VERSION CONFLICT MESSAGE DURING THE INSTALLATION YOU MUST ANSWER NO, REGARDLESS OF WHAT IS RECOMMENDED IN THE MESSAGE!!!

3. When Windows restarts, Click on MY COMPUTER then DIAL UP NETWORKING. Highlight PegaNet. Click FILE then PROPERTIES. IF YOU ARE NOT IN LEE COUNTY, replace the LEE County phone number (437-1717) with the correct one of the following: COLLIER COUNTY: 262-4006 CHARLOTTE COUNTY: 764-7764

4. Click OK. Next Click on CONNECTIONS then SETTINGS. Put a Check Mark in Redial and put 99 in the times box. Do NOT make any other changes. Click OK.

5. Drag the PegaNet Icon onto your desktop to create a shortcut.

6. Click on the PegaNet Icon on your desktop. Enter your loginname and password (BOTH CASE SENSITIVE), then Click CONNECT to log on to PegaNet. Once Connected, Click on the Internet Icon on your desktop. Our home page will appear in the browser. Click on the 95 News and Mail Configuration Button on our home page for final notes.


YOU WILL NOW BE ABLE TO CONNECT TO PEGANET! Just Double Click the PegaNet Shortcut on your Desktop.

You will get a connect box. Make sure you see your correct login name for PegaNet (all lowercase letters) and make sure you type your password in exactly as it appears on your information sheet that you received when you signed up with PegaNet. (The password is case-sensitive). You must be extra careful in this field, as all you will see when you are typing is stars (*******). Make sure your capslock key is not lit on your keyboard.

There will be a check box where you can save the password. To enable this box, or if it is enabled but DOES NOT SAVE the password, then you must do the following:
Click on "Start" "Settings" "Control Panel"
Double Click "Network"
Click "Add" Click "Client"
Click "Add" Select "Microsoft" and "Client For Microsoft Networks"
Click "Ok" Then "Ok" Again

The next time you logon to PegaNet, put a check in the "Save Password" Item.
NOTE: You MUST connect to PegaNet in order for these steps of saving your password to take effect.
